The Wholesome Road
Wholesome Life-Family-Homeschool-
Welcome to The Wholesome Road.
I had this dream that one day, my family and I would live a wholesome life.
Let me explain…
By definition wholesome is conducive to or suggestive of good health and physical well-being.
But I want to tell you what a wholesome life means to me.
Living a wholesome life to me means a life where…
- Happiness is always within arms reach
- Life is unrushed, slow and intentional
- Relationships are life giving, not life draining
- Words are kind and considerate
- The food comes from the garden, not the grocery store
- The food also has ingredients I can pronounce
- Connections are made with people, not things
- Books are the heart of entertainment
- Attitudes, anger and yelling are minimal
- Grace, forgiveness and patience are plenty
- Screens and technology are not the source of our satisfaction and joy
- Priorities are God, family, food and farm
I could go on but I may lose you so I’ll stop there. But you get the jist. I have this dream of living on a farm one day. Raising our own food while bridging connections with what we eat. Where my kids will play in the yard with the chickens, drinking water from the hose, begging me for just 5 more minutes as the sun starts to wane. My days will be spent tending to animals, hands in the dirt, cooking wholesome whole food meals and writing this blog of course. There will be cows bellowing in the pasture. We’ll enjoy ice cold homemade lemonade in the summer and there will be hot coco next to warm fires in the winter, all my littles gathered around reading a good book. Ya know, little house on the prairie, lifetime movie kind of stuff.
We are far from that but that’s what this blog is about…taking you on my family’s journey to this wholesome made from scratch life
